Tip 1: Let your family do the cooking

This also includes your in-laws, if need be. If you both are from different regions/tribes, both families can make the dishes unique to them for your guests to savour. You could also have a cooking team supervised by a member of the family known for handling item 7 at any family function.

Tip 2: Buy your own drinks

Just like food, there is always an uncle or male cousin who specializes in organizing drinks for family functions. Get them to go drink shopping with you. Then hire cooling boxes, drums or a cooling van and chill your drinks, If you decide to go with drums, you will also need to buy packed ice for chilling the drinks. This way, you do not have to pay a drinks vendor to provide drinks.

Tip 3: Dessert & Cocktails are not Compulsory

Serving your main meal and drinks can be just fine for your guests. if you do not want to, you do not have to go the route of cocktails/dessert and all the other extra edibles we find at events, except you can afford it, then by all means do so. You could even decide to serve just dessert & cocktails depending on the kind of event you are having.

Tip 4: Plated versus Buffet Meals which is more affordable

If you do not want to burden anybody with the task of cooking, you can compare prices of buffet meals versus the cost per plate option to decide which one aligns with your budget. Ensure to go with the less expensive option.

Tip 5:HThe Party can be held at home.

Hall rentals are not coming down any time soon. Instead, why not use your own home (or the home of a parent) for your ceremony, or perhaps an outdoor location with a good ambience. Ensure that the location is well decorated and comfortable for your guests.
